OSU, UO Named Most Gay Friendly Schools

The non-profit Campus Pride has released their 2010 list of most gay friendly colleges and the State of Oregon’s two major universities both achieved the highest score possible. In total, 19 colleges achieved the highest rating of 5 stars including Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. No other northwest schools achieved the 5 star rating.

The study included survey’s of more than 6,000 self identified gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and trans-gender students, faculty and staff of colleges and universities across the country. Participation is voluntary.

The other 17 schools to achieve the 5 star level are: Carleton College; Humboldt State University; Ithaca College; Oberlin College; Princeton University; San Diego State University; Syracuse University; The Ohio State University; The Pennsylvania State University; University of California, Berkeley; University of California, Los Angeles; University of California, Riverside; University of Maine, Farmington; University of Pennsylvania; University of Southern California; University of Vermont; and Washington University in St. Louis.
