Phones giant announces new vice president in charge of sales for Southeast Asia Pacific region.
Effective from Jan 1 last, Mr Neil Gordon is now responsible for Nokia's strategic direction and overall business performance in the SEAP region, based out of their Singapore office.
He has taken over from Chris Carr who was appointed new general manager for Australia & New Zealand in November, as part of reshuffle at executive level.
Prior to this, Mr Gordon was leading the global Sales Operations team and was based in Finland and has been with the company on and off since since 1994.
He has held both finance and sales leadership roles in Asia, Middle East & Africa and Europe and has a "wealth of Nokia experience," according to Colin Giles, Nokia's senior vice president and head of global sales.
"The markets within SEAP continue to offer tremendous growth potential and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with our talented and highly engaged team," said Gordon.
The move comes as Nokia, who recently announced plans to reduce up to 1800 employees from their workforce globally, have recognised their market leader role in the phones industry has been severely disrupted by the coming of Smartphones from the likes of Apple, Google and Blackberry.
"Our company faces a remarkably disruptive time in the industry, with recent results demonstrating that we must reassess our role in and our approach to this industry," declared CEO Stephen Elop in October.
